What Makes Eva Alive?

Amid the city centre's urban rhythm, finding grounding moments of reflection is essential. In this feature, we meet Eva on the streets of Exeter to talk about our fundamental connection to the natural world, personal resilience, and the importance of authenticity.

For Eva, feeling fully alive starts with a return to the natural environment and recognising our place within it:

"Definitely nature. I love nature so much... I think it's such an important thing to be a part of our lives because obviously we are nature."

Reflecting on modern life, Eva highlights how societal disconnect from the natural world creates imbalances:

"To be connected with who I am at my core root because I think that as a society, we've become so disconnected from nature & it's caused, in my opinion & in my eyes, it causes so many issues because of the lack of balance that we have with the thing that we're literally we literally come from."

Discussing personal growth and overcoming challenges, Eva opens up about navigating mental health and building self-confidence:

"Mental health things, it's like nothing I would like to go into, but finding my peace & working on my self-confidence, working to love myself really."

Closing our conversation, Eva shares an empowering, uncompromised message about self-worth and letting go of comparison:

"Love yourself, no matter who you are, no matter what you look like, no matter where you're from, love yourself because there's always going to be someone prettier... there's always going to be someone taller, shorter, fatter, thinner, just don't compare yourselves to people, just love you because you are so unique & there will never be anyone in the entire world like you ever again."
