On the streets, spontaneous conversations often reveal journeys of profound personal transformation, resilience, and discovery. In this feature, we connect with Jordi to talk about solo travel, overcoming the weight of past mistakes, and what brings true vitality to his days.
For Jordi, feeling alive is anchored in the adventure of exploring the world on his own terms:
"I love to travel, I love to go to random places, just on my own. And just soak it in really... The new experiences, new cultures, new people... everyone's got a story. As you probably know. So it's just nice to interact with different people. It's a good experience. I recommend it to anybody."
Opening up about the heaviest hurdles he has faced, Jordi shares an honest look at his past and how he broke free from the limitations others tried to place on him:
"When I was 19, 20, I actually ended up getting arrested. Did some time in prison and when you get out of that, people tell you that you can't go traveling, you can't work. Overcoming that and you're not defined by sort of your mistakes and what you've done in the past. You can pretty much do whatever you want, regardless of whatever mistakes you've made."
Reflecting on the turning point that reshaped his perspective during a year behind bars, Jordi emphasises the power of reflection:
"Being there for a year, and just like not seeing my friends... that time to reflect on things. And you realize that how much you've probably damaged people and our families. So, got a lot of thinking time when you're there. Get to deep these things and realise sort of what you've done."
Closing our conversation, Jordi shares a powerful and grounding message for the world:
"Just listen to people... Everybody's got a story. Everybody's got struggles, everybody's got achievements. So, it's just good to listen to people and just sort of see what other people are doing. See how other people are living and you'll learn from that."
