What Makes Joshua Alive?

On the streets of Exeter, spontaneous conversations often highlight how creative outlets help young people navigate intense periods of stress and growth. In this feature, we connect with Joshua to talk about music, personal style, and what brings vitality to his days.

For Joshua, feeling alive is rooted heavily in the creative energy of music and fashion:

"Music & fashion really, mostly music... Just the creative instinct of most people & just like how they make things seem different, but also fit in at the same time."

Opening up about the pressures of school and getting through exam season, Joshua shares how he found his way through the weight of GCSEs:

"Going through my GCSEs mostly, revising a lot, just getting through all that, just taking my time out of my day to go do things I like... Music again, put my head down really, put the music in my head & just start putting all my thoughts out onto paper."

Closing our conversation, Joshua shares a thoughtful and balanced message for the world:

"Take your time with everything, but do your best."
