On the streets of Exeter, spontaneous conversations often reveal powerful stories of personal growth, family roots, and inner strength. In this feature, we connect with Kaci to talk about what drives her and gives her days true meaning.
For Kaci, feeling alive is deeply rooted in her family and the purpose they bring:
"My little sister & my family... trying to do better for them kind of gives me a bit of purpose & makes me feel happy & stuff. We're a very big & very loud family—half Irish & half Jamaican... they always taught me that as long as you're yourself, you're never a liar, as long as you're 100% you, there's nothing wrong with that."
Opening up about the personal challenges she has faced, Kaci shares her journey navigating bipolar disorder and relocating from South London at a young age:
"I have bipolar disorder... I get it from my mum, so I had it from a very young age, growing up trying to navigate that. I'm also from South London, so moving here at 16 was very difficult, I didn't know anybody. I think it made me like more confident & more like okay with who I am."
Closing our conversation, Kaci shares an empowering message for the world:
"Just like be you, as long as you're you, you're never going to disappoint yourself or disappoint anybody else."
