What Makes Keira Alive?

On the streets of Exeter, spontaneous conversations often uncover how deep passions and personal outlets help young people heal and grow. In this feature, we connect with Keira to talk about the music that moves her, how it builds self-esteem, and what makes her feel truly alive.

For Keira, feeling alive is inextricably linked to K-Pop and the genuine dedication artists pour into their work:

"I'd say K-Pop... K-Pop makes me feel alive. It's saved me so many times, it's actually unbelievable... I think it's just the way they produce their music, the way they really feel good about it... they just love their jobs."

Opening up about the hurdles she has faced, Keira shares how transitioning to college helped her rise above past adversity:

"I used to get bullied all through secondary, primary... and I think coming to college, it just like it really helped my self-esteem. And also like dying my hair different colours, I love doing that, it's so fun, it just brings out all of my personality."

Closing our conversation, Keira shares a simple, powerful message for the world:

"Always be kind, it just helps—helps everyone."
