What Makes Audrey Alive?
On Exeter's streets, alternative fashion and personal styling often reflect deep journeys of self-discovery and freedom. In this feature, we connect with Audrey to talk about the soundtrack of her life, how she navigates self-doubt, and the liberation of dressing exactly how she wants.
For Audrey, vitality is anchored entirely in sound and the deep resonance of music:
"Probably music. Big music lover! Every time I listen to it the feeling I get from it is just... it's just amazing."
That connection goes beyond simple entertainment; it is an essential part of her identity:
"I feel more myself listening to it, it's a really big part of who I am."
Reflecting on personal hurdles, Audrey opens up about overcoming a lack of self-confidence and finding comfort in her unique alternative aesthetic:
"I struggled a lot with like my lack of self-confidence & especially more recently, dressing the way I do, it's made me feel a lot more comfortable with who I am & how I present myself. To overcome it, it just kind of clicked one day. I was just like, oh there's no point in stressing over it, you do you. Nobody's really paying attention, so there's no point in worrying about it."
Closing our conversation, Audrey shares a clear and encouraging message for anyone finding their own path:
"Love yourself, do what you enjoy kind of thing."
